Treatment
The main treatment includes psychotherapy for patients to learn to control symptoms by having more positive thoughts, and also to control other problems associated with this disorder such as stress, anxiety, and alcohol or substance abuse. More severe disorders will require the use of medications including antidepressants and anxiety medications. A combination of medication and psychotherapy may also be prescribed.
